Who are we and where did we come from?
Let me start to say that I believe God and evolution are interrelated. We don’t have many facts about GOD or the scientific view on how our existence became, so I will compare these two entities with all fairness.
Have you ever wondered what is out in space instead of living in a bubble? Who or what created this magnificent planet that we live on now? The biggest question is who created us? They are so many unanswered questions! Let me put together the scientific view and GODs view on who created Earth and us.
We know that Earth was created on and around 4.54 billion years ago according to scientist. Now we theorize that the Bible was written only 2700 years ago, but we don’t know before the Old Testament to give us any clues on how the earth came about. They are only theories from the Old Testament on how the Earth was formed and that was by the Bible in Genesis. So, let us look at an info graph that I made up with a timetable to give us a clue on where everything came from and at what time:
Now let’s take a look at who created the Earth. Was it God? Or was it created by gas and dust? The scientific view is plausible if you get a swirling of gas and dust of course it will obviously turn into ball. This might be the answer for the creation of the core a rocky mantle, and a solid crust. This is all before life on Earth started. As the planet cooled, lava became rock and liquid water started to condense, forming Earth's first ocean. Now let’s take a look at the Bibles view on how the Earth was created. I hope that you know that the Bible says that the Earth and everything else was created in six days. Day 1: Light Day 2: Atmosphere / Firmament Day 3: Dry ground & plants Day 4: Sun, moon & stars Day 5: Birds & sea creatures Day 6: Land animals & humans. Genesis 1–2 tells the story of God’s creation of the world. You have to be asking, how is it possible to create the Earth and everything else in six days? Actually it took six thousand years! In the Bible you have an explanation in verse 2 Peter 3:8 where it says “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” Here now is the Bibles explanation on how the Earth was created. Genesis 1:1-5 NIV says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.” That’s if you believe the Universe and Earth is to perfect for science to depict it. This is just a brief explanation on how the Earth was created either by science or GOD. We just don’t know the force behind the Earths creation as it is a complete habitual place to live on. We all have our ideals and it is important for us to understand the two sides of the spectrum.
Below is the scientific view on how the Earth was created:
The earth itself is a cleaning machine which recycles all the pollution in the air and land. It has evolved over time by creating new environments for us. It has created our countries formation. This is all through plate tectonics and weathering over time. It evolves through time making new organisms through its ingredients which the Universe holds. All the exact placements and everything needed to survive. So, who created us and the creatures around us? Was it simply the toss of the dice? I certainly don’t think so. Let’s start by asking a question and answering it in a simplistic manner. How does life begin? Before we were born we were a single cell organism. Cells are units of life. We as people are a division of cells. We have trillions of cells that make us up as human beings. So, what was the first single cell that then produced a human? We again can only theorize where it came from. We just do not have any facts on that particular question.
Everything seemed to have a process that produces a makeup of something. This is much like life. There is a specific way that life is made. The same thing adheres to this Earth to give us all the amenities needed to survive on this Earth itself. The process is then a chain reaction with all the right ingredients that is given a makeup of something. Everything on this Earth is processed. Here is an analogy on how oxygen is made or appears. What is the first process that occurs when oxygen is made? We know plants and trees give us oxygen. The ingredients are carbon dioxide, water and sunlight. Photosynthesis then is the process in making that final make up of oxygen. My point is I believe God gave us these amenities to live a good life on Earth. God is the process that makes us on who we are today. God created man by “formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). Think about your inner being in other words your soul. That became a part of your physical self when you became human. Who gave you this? I believe GOD did. Science cannot depict the sole, pure and simple it is not science. It is holy and a gift from GOD. That is life on this Earth.
Once Earth had settled after all these violent forces shaped it, what? We just appeared as a single cell organism. Who caused the forces and why did Earth become so convenient to live on? I do believe God had to do with the forces that created Earth, us and all the living creatures. Listen, the Earth is to convenient with all the amenities we need to live on. We still don’t know how life appeared and where the birth came from the single cell organism. According to the Bible (Genesis 2:7), this is how humanity began: "The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." God then called the man Adam, and later created Eve from Adam's rib. Let us view first what's in the Hebrew Bible and it says: In Genesis 2, God forms "Adam", this time meaning a single male human, out of "the dust of the ground" and "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life" (Genesis 2:7).It seems to be the Bible depicting that man came from in full form. Now the scientific approach is through a single cell organism, this might be the after effect before Adam and Eve were created. Same goes with the animals of the world. Who guides that process? GOD? I believe GOD formed Man (Adam) first which had a division of cells first. There is no scientific evidence of a single cell just appearing out of the air. So, how was Eve created, out of Adams rib? God’s use of one of Adam’s ribs to make Eve is a reminder that woman was created to be “beside” man. Together, the man and woman complement one another in marriage, Then the process of making an offspring started with a single cell organism to reproduce species. Remember, this is only my theory.
They say today hydrothermal vents were the setting for the formation of the first life on Earth. Would it surprise you to know that the Bible described hydrothermal vents in the 4th Century BC, over 2,000 years prior? This is of course without saying the word hydrothermal vent, because it wasn’t coined back then. Here we go again with what the Bible says about hydrothermal vents:
"...all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." Genesis 7:11 (Written around 1400 BC)
I believe life begun with hydrothermal vents. Life then flourished deep down below the ocean at temperatures around 700 Fahrenheit. This was probably the first life that appeared through a single cell organism.
See image of a hydrothermal vent below and the life flourishing:
I don’t believe evolution and the Bible are separate entities. This is because I believe that evolution is a part of GODs work. God guides the process of life. My view of evolution is so humans can adapt to the environment and that is it. The definition of evolution in Wikipedia is: “Evolution is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. These characteristics are the expressions of genes that are passed on from parent to offspring during reproduction.”
I say yes to the fact that we slowly change generation to generation, but it is a process so our offspring’s could survive a better life and adapt to Earth. Let’s bring up a subject that the some people pivoted Darwin with. Here we go! We certainly did not evolve from Apes, they are a separate species! You may ask what a species is. In taxonomic it is group whose members can interbreed. We certainly cannot interbreed with an Ape. This is one of the misconceptions which Darwin was accused of saying. Humans did not descend from Apes. That would be going against Mother Nature’s rules or you can say GODs rules. On the subject of survival of the fittest written by Herbert Spencer that organism’s best adjusted to their environment are the most successful in surviving and reproducing is right. GOD gave us genes for what reason? For the same reason he gave us life. That is to live on Earth this magnificent environment, which is ever changing.
Genetically we are produced on Herbert Spencer theory of survival of the fittest. This is so our offspring could live a better life on Earth and not struggle or die off. Take for example Charles Darwin’s study on his finches’ beaks. The birds with the right beaks would be able to survive the environmental seeds. Birds with the right beaks were defined as the fittest. To make it brief we are made up of cells inside those cells are the chromosomes, which carry the genes. The gene makes us up as a person and there is exactly one copy of our makeup. In the Bible it says the same thing for all species. 1 Corinthians 15:38-39: “But God gives it a body as he has chosen, and to each kind of seed its own body. For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.” All this is a process of life given to us by GOD. Let us leave it at that. I want to make a final note about Darwin; he believed that GOD was the ultimate law-giver. Please never fool or experiment with Mother Nature, which would be breaking GODs rules. In turn help Mother Nature. Nature is GODs creation:
A little note before we move on to the subject on hand. I want to remind you that the Bible was written in 1400 B.C., which back then did not have the technology or education we have today. We certainly can’t change the Bible, because you have verses all over the Bible saying that. One of them in particular is: “What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.” (Deut. 12:32.) Since the Bible is old and the translations can be difficult to gasp, it is important to relate it to our present day. For example when I was writing about hydrothermal vents, which were discovered in 1977, the Bible itself had a verse depicting it as fountains. Here it is again, "...all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." Genesis 7:11 (Written around 1400 BC). So keep all these factors in mind when I continue writing on this webpage.
Where in the world did all the vegetation, trees, animals and us come from and how? If you read the Bible in Genesis 1:11-31 it explains the natural occurrence of events. In my timetable, Earth History you have an explanation on the scientific view of events. It seems though that God created everything with the breath of his mouth. Take a look at mans creation again. (Genesis 2:7): "the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." Now take a look at the creation of animals: (Gen. 7:15). “Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.” Here is another creation: (Psalm 33:6): “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.” Breath means living life, which is every inhale and exhale of breath is a gift from God, because were alive. So in my view this is only a phrase used. Don’t take it in a literal sense. There are thirty one verses of breathing in the Bible. The bible Scripture even tells us that the breath of life resides within the creation of the creatures to full form and again we go to (Gen. 7:15). “Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.” My view of the creation of creatures and humans came as a pair in whole form. With then the ability to reproduce offspring’s by cells with nucleic acids (including DNA and RNA), proteins, lipids and glycans. These are the building blocks of life. We know all about cells and how they create life, but wasn’t that God’s plan to create such life out of cells after we were paired up? We are only studying the cells that were given to us by either God or some entity. My point is our anatomy is what it is and something was responsible for creating it. I don’t want to get technical here and lose the whole point of this subject. When God made a pair of us and creatures as full form that was meant for us to reproduce. For us God made it clear in (Genesis 1:28): “God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."” Here we have the animals created as a pair as a full form (Gen. 7:15). “Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.” This is what I have repeatedly said. Now when we reproduce we can see the cell structure and how our reproduction system works. Science is science and it is very important to know for medical cures and so on, but explain the beginning of life. I believe God paired man and the creatures in full form in the beginning. So we could reproduce with Gods mechanics, cells. I hope I got the point across and sorry for the repeated remarks. The image below, God's order of creation timeline.
I want to discuss something of importance and that is self-consciousness and all the inner part of yourself especially your soul the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or even an animal, regarded as immortal. Where does all this come from? Let’s first define these terms starting with conscientiousness. It has been succinctly described as the soul distinguishing between what is morally, good and bad. We have an inner life of the mind, the heart and the soul. Our consciousness is the ability to be aware of our awareness which is what makes us human. It is something that Philosophers and neuroscientists have all tried to define and have in my opinion come up short. What I am getting at is this is a God issue, which was instilled in us to be more in God’s image as a spiritual person. Take a look at Genesis 1:27: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” I believe image is the invisible self, your inner being as in your spirit. Now let’s discuss the inner part of your soul and spirit. The difference between the two is your soul speaks of your inner-life in relation to your own experience: your mind, heart, will, and imagination. It also includes your thoughts, desires, passions, and dreams. But your spirit speaks of the same inner-life in relation to God: your faith, hope, love, character, and perseverance. Don't get soul confused with immortal soul, which is the spiritual part of a person that some people believe continues to exist in some form after their body has died, or the part of a person that is not physical and experiences deep feelings. This is very important because we will discuss death at the conclusion of this webpage. My point here with all this has to do with God and only God’s work only.
We are losing track of the scientific part. Some atheist might believe in the scientific part as where everything on Earth came from. I don’t want to be bias and leave them out of the loop. They are important too and all people matter in the concept of the creation of Earth as a whole. This includes everything on Earth.
Let us begin and search for answers. Where did everything come from to make it so convenient for all of us to live on this planet? I mean everything living on this planet. Can we explain it with facts alone, I don’t think so, but some of it through the scientific view. Who applies the force to derive the Earth through gravity and dust? We know more about the scientific view than we know about God. I believe in some people’s minds, God is too imaginable to believe in. God sounds like a mystical being in the Bible with incredible powers. Is that what he is? The Bible is so limited, which us as humans need proof. Haven’t you ever thought that our proof is our surroundings on how convenient this Earth is to us? Where is God in all this? I believe God is well and alive within us. That is why God gave us a self-consciousness to make choices. Those choices in life lead us to a path. That is either good consequences or bad consequences. What I am getting at is this is a test on Earth. I truly believe God wants you to succeed in life, but you have your own fate in your hands on Earth and in the afterlife. Do the right thing in life; think before doing the wrong thing in life. This is because there are consequences to be accountable in this lifetime and in the afterlife! The Bible has the word as being tested all over the place. You may want to Google, does God tests us verses. I know what you are thinking, that is I lean towards Gods view. The answer is yes, because of the incredible fact that this world as a whole is to perfect in the sense to believe it came to us with no help from a being like God. I want you to succeed in life and during difficult times remember God does not cast you those difficult times. Things happen in life and it is what we do that makes a difference in our life. Remember to move forward in your life and do the right thing and everything will work out. I’m 64 years old and I can’t believe how short life is on Earth. I will give you my view on what happens to us when we die next.
